Chances are that they have already seen some of your work before making a request or agreeing to an art trade. If they didn’t want it, they wouldn’t have asked.
I’ve had both people who are better than me and people that are below my skill level artistically draw things for me - be they requests, art trades, or gifts - and I have appreciated every single one.
